Keynote Speaker (1)

Prof. Dr. Janardan Lamichhane, the Vice-Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), is an academic and scientific leader with extensive experience in biotechnology, higher education, research, and science and technology development in Nepal.
Prof. Lamichhane has contributed to research and academic development in biotechnology and related life sciences, while also playing an active role in strengthening research capacity, scientific collaboration, and higher education in Nepal. Before assuming the leadership of NAST, he held academic and leadership positions at Kathmandu University, including serving as Dean of the School of Science.
As Vice-Chancellor of NAST, Prof. Lamichhane provides national leadership in advancing science, technology, and innovation and strengthening the role of research institutions in national development. His experience in scientific research, academic leadership, and institutional development offers valuable perspectives on strengthening national science and innovation systems, aligning closely with this year’s conference theme.

Dr. Bikram Acharya holds a PhD in Technology Management, Economics and Policy from Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. His work spans public policy, development economics, consumer behavior, technology forecasting, and innovation, with a focus on how technology and policy can contribute to national development.
Dr. Acharya has worked in research and policy, contributing to evidence-based policy development and research–policy dialogue in Nepal. He has served as a Research Fellow at the Policy Research Institute and as an Executive Editor of the Nepal Public Policy Review, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to connecting research with public policy.
He currently serves as an Advisor to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Government of Nepal, contributing to discussions on science, technology, and innovation policy. His experience across research, policy, and technology offers valuable perspectives on strengthening the connections among knowledge, institutions, innovation, and policy in Nepal, aligning closely with this year’s conference theme.
