Hands-on Training Program

The “GIS: Fundamentals and Applications” training, organized as part of the 8th International Conference on Mountains in the Changing World (MoChWo 2026), is a hands-on learning program designed to strengthen practical skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis.
The training will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 7–9 October 2026, bringing together students, researchers, academicians, planners, and professionals interested in geospatial technologies and their applications in environmental and mountain research.

Participants will engage in interactive, practice-oriented sessions covering:
1. Map preparation and cartographic design
2. Vector and raster data analysis
3. Georeferencing techniques
4. Spatial analysis and GIS workflows
5. Data visualization and interpretation

Registration & Fees

• GIS Training only: NPR 4,000 per participant

• GIS Training + MoChWo 2026 Conference package: NPR 7,000 per participant
